The current lighthouse was built between eighteen hundred and fifty four and 1855 on the slopes of Mount Igueldo and is placed at an height of 134 meters above sea level. Its inaugural light was produced with oil and paraffin. In nineteen hundred and sixteen modifications were presented to fix it work with oil. In 1918 it became electrified, in nineteen hundred and twelve the town of Igueldo accredited the architect Luis Elizalde refurbishments, incorporating a plant with expectant windows and a patio (from it you can see the city of San Sebastian and the landscape), and in nineteen hundred and twenty nine his flasher was renewed, increasing its reach.
